GUEST MOORING
The WFBC manages a guest mooring that is available to both members and non-members. It will accommodate boats up to 32 feet and the depth at average low tide is 6 ft. The mooring must be reserved through Dockwa. The charge is $45 per night. The cancellation policy requires a 72-hour notice. Maximum stay is 5 nights starting at noon the first day and off by noon the last day. If staying overnight onboard, please observe neighborhood standards of quiet and no swimming off the boat after 8:00 pm.
LOCATING the WFBC GUEST MOORING
When entering West Falmouth harbor at the jetty, Chapoquoit Island will be to starboard. When you reach the east end of the island, look for a “ROCK” marker to the SSE and head for that while obeying the channel markers. Then head for the public dock. The mooring is located across from the west end of the public dock on a line perpendicular to the dock going out approximately 75 feet. The mooring ball is marked “FHM.”

SECOND GUEST MOORING
Another mooring is available for power boats and shallow draft sail (20 inches at low tide). For reservations contact Rich Caruso at 508-393-7858 or Todd Taylor at 508-548-4321.
MOORING PERMITS
The WFBC does not issue mooring permits. This is handled and controlled by the Town of Falmouth Harbor Master. Permits must be renewed with the fee annually, usually required by the Harbor Master to be done in January. Permits may be revoked for late or non-payment of the fee. There is a long waiting list for moorings. Note that the owners name and mooring number are required to appear on the mooring ball in 1” high letters.
CONSERVATION MOORINGS
In 2019 the Buzzards Bay Coalition started a project to replace roughly 20% of conventional moorings in those areas of West Falmouth Harbor that still have eelgrass. Funded with a state grant, the replacement moorings are designed to allow eelgrass to grow back. Conventional moorings include a chain that scours the bottom as wind and current move a boat around. The conservation moorings make use of a helix anchor and a high-tech mooring line that does not rest on the bottom. The objective is to allow eelgrass to grow back and improve the health of the harbor.

There is a nightly security patrol that protects the harbor in general and that can assist in emergency matters when appropriate. For emergency call Todd Taylor at (508) 548-4321.
